Hi! Thank you for taking the time to view my work! I am Jaya Rao. I have had an appreciation for the arts for as long as I can remember. I took two art classes outside of school when I was younger, and entered any art competition that I could find. Art has been my passion for my entire life, and I am following my lifelong dream as I enter the world as a RISD graduate. 

 

I have just graduated as an Illustration student from RISD as of May 2026. I am a visual designer and illustrator based in New Jersey. I love making art for others, solving creative problems and inventing solutions.

I work across brand identity, character design, and visual development, creating projects that feel cohesive from concept to execution. I’m especially interested in how illustration and design can support learning; whether through educational storytelling, language exploration, or visual tools that make complex ideas more accessible and engaging.
